David's Daily Devotion for January 4

January 4, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, January 4.

Does the number 525,600 mean anything to you? Well, that's the number of minutes in a year. So, take away about 5000 (we're four days into 2023) and that's how much time you have left in this new year. But, what can you really accomplish in a minute? There's Chopin's "The Minute Waltz" - but, no matter how much I practiced, I was never able to play it in less than a minute! Let's turn our attention, then, to another number - 1741. Doesn't ring any bells? Well, that's the number of times that the word "day" or "daily" is found in God's Word. Here's just a few examples -

Psalm 118:24 - This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Matthew 6:11 - Give us this day our daily bread.

2 Corinthians 4:16 - Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

God reminds us, over and over, that our spiritual journey is measured not in months or years - but in days. The process of daily going to the Lord for wisdom, for guidance, for forgiveness, is the secret of a strong and lasting relationship with God.

I pray His blessings over you and yours . . . on this day.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
