David's Daily Devotion for July 19

July 19, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, July 19.

In 1854, at the tender age of 19, Charles Spurgeon became the pastor of Metropolitan Tabernacle, the largest church in London. A mesmerizing orator, he preached over 3,600 sermons over the next 38 years. And he became, in many people's estimation, the greatest pulpiteer of modern times.

Spurgeon's sermons were transcribed as he preached them and thousands of copies were published each week. Books of his sermons are still poured over by young seminary students today. He was known as the "Prince of Preachers". And when he died in 1892, over 100,000 people attended his funeral.

I recently came across this quote by Charles Spurgeon - "The Church is not perfect, but woe to the man who finds pleasure in pointing out her imperfections. Christ loved His church. Let us do the same."

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
