July 7, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, July 7.
One day next week, 16 of our FBC youth will travel to Waco, Texas for a mission trip. They’ll share the love of Jesus in action and in word. They’ll strive to make a difference, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
One day, two thousand years ago, Jesus stood on the Mount of Olives. Surrounded by His disciples, He uttered these famous words - “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses”. When He had given this promise to them (and to us), He was “taken up before their very eyes into heaven”. In other words, these were the last words Christ spoke on earth.
We claim His promise today, that the Spirit will give us power. And we accept our purpose today, to be His witnesses. We may not be traveling on a mission trip, but as the old saying goes, the mission field begins right outside your front door.
