David's Daily Devotion for June 21

June 21, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, June 21.

On June 21, 1948, the Columbia Recording Company introduced a new product. Since the early 1920’s, the world had been listening to discs that were made from shellac and that played at the speed of 78 revolutions per minute. These “records” had a poor, scratchy quality and were only five minutes long. The new product, on vinyl, had five times that length and a smooth, clear sound. The world of music had changed forever.

Or at least until the 1970’s, when it changed again when cassette tapes appeared. And then CDs were the latest revolution. And now most of our music is digital. But guess what? That LP that was introduced 75 years ago... is coming back! Last year we bought 25 million of them.

Change. It’s the abiding characteristic of our culture. Change. It’s baked into our human DNA. Change. We experience it every generation, every year, every day. So, it’s nice to know that some things never change.

Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
