David's Daily Devotion for June 3

June 3, 2022 - Good Morning!  It’s Friday, June 3.

Yesterday, children from all over America met in Washington D.C. for the National Spelling Bee.  That’s been happening every year since 1925. This year the winner received a trophy and 50,000 dollars!

Are you a good speller?  I think I am.  But then, sometimes, my spelling skills are suspect.  Yesterday I was writing a script for our Vacation Bible School musical, and I typed the word “scene”.  I’ve probably written that word hundreds of times in my life, but when I looked at it yesterday, it looked totally wrong!

So, what did I do?  I reached for the source of truth.  I reached for the dictionary.  Sure enough, it is spelled “scene” - even though it still looked wrong to me in that moment.  There’s a spiritual lesson here.  In our secular culture, sometimes, in the moment, we struggle to know what is right.  So what do we do?  We reach for the source of truth.  We reach for The Word.

Psalm 119:1.  Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.

Meet you back here tomorrow,

Bro. David
