David's Daily Devotion for May 26

May 26, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Friday, May 26.

Everything old is new again.

Let me tell you about a remarkable method of communication and connection. You probably haven't heard of it. It's exceedingly rare. I'll describe it for you.

First, you take a sheet of paper and place it flat on a table or a desk. Then, you use a writing instrument to fill the paper with your thoughts. Thoughts of important things, thoughts of trivial things. Humorous thoughts, serious thoughts, thoughts of love.

And then you fold the paper, place it in an envelope, and inscribe the front of the envelope with the name of someone who is dear to you. Then, finally - and this is an important step - you put a stamp on the envelope and entrust it to the care of the United States Postal Service.

This rare and wonderful form of communication and connection is called a letter. And when it is delivered to your friend, you can be certain of one thing - it will bring a smile to their face, and perhaps a tear to their eye. I encourage you to write a letter this week. After all, everything old is new again.

Here are some words from an ancient letter.

"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God." Philippians 1:3.

Meet you back here on Tuesday. Have a blessed Memorial Day weekend.
