David's Daily Devotion for November 2

November 2, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Thursday, November 2.

When you walk into most Baptist churches, you'll find a room called The Fellowship Hall. It's a room where the church family gathers, gathers for potluck meals, for special occasions, for, well, fellowship. That's kind of a "church" word - fellowship. It's our word for what the world would call a party. We had a big party at our church last night, a fellowship, and a great time was had by young and old.

But when the Bible uses that word "fellowship", it goes to something much deeper, a deeper connection, a spiritual connection. Luke writes about it in Acts 2:44, and his words paint a beautiful picture of the church.

"And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common."

The Greek word that Luke uses is "koinonia," a term that translates "sharing." Our relationships as Christian brothers and sisters, as a family of God, are deep and spiritual. We share a fellowship that is eternal.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
