David's Daily Devotion for November 3

November 3, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Friday, November 3.

It's here again - Time Change Weekend. This is the good one - "fall back". We get an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night, and if you forget to reset your clocks - you'll be early for church.

I hate to be late! I have this recurring nightmare where I'm running through the halls of my high school. The bell has already rung and everyone else is in their classrooms. I, however, have forgotten where my classroom is! And I'm late! Maybe you're a stickler for punctuality, too. Or maybe you're one of those people (heaven help them) who are chronically running late. I'm not here to judge you. I will leave that job to God. But if you just left the house a little earlier, you'd... sorry!

The Bible uses several phrases about time - "at the appointed time", "in due time," "at the proper time." And so, before there were any clocks, the One who created Time itself, was teaching us about time. Ecclesiastes 3:1 - To everything there is a season (appointed time), and a time for every purpose under heaven. Galatians 6:9 - Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not grow weary. Ecclesiastes 8:6 - There is a proper time and procedure for every delight.

And then there's this beautiful scripture in Galatians 4:4 - When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman...

Thanks for spending this time with me this morning.

Meet you back here on Monday,
Bro. David
