David's Daily Devotion for September 14

September 14, 2022 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, September 14.

One of my "hats" at First Baptist Center is to coordinate the care of the resources that God has blessed us with. I work alongside our custodians and our buildings and grounds committee to protect and preserve the Lord's House. It is a privilege.

And sometimes it's a challenge. For the last month we've had a leak in our sanctuary air conditioner. Repairmen have been out numerous times, but the problem still remains. A plumber is on his way this morning. As the old saying goes - hope springs eternal!

Have you ever had problems in your life that seemed unsolvable? Maybe you're dealing with something like that right now. As humans, our impulse is to try to "fix it" on our own. But Proverbs 3:5 reminds us to "trust in the Lord will all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding". Sometimes God may send unsolvable problems to test us or to train us. Romans 5:4 says, "Endurance produces character, and character produces hope." And then, finally, there is the commandment found in I Thessalonians 5:18 - "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you".

Take a moment to thank God for all the things in your life - even the unsolvable problems.

Meet you back here tomorrow,
Bro. David
