Here Comes the Sun; Crews Continue Massive Repairs Across ArkLaTex

June 6, 2024 - A welcome break in the weather allowed crews to make more progress. Power was restored last night to customers in Bossier City, Louisiana, De Queen and Nashville in Arkansas and in Waskom, Texas.

Latest damage estimates show many miles of damaged wire due to the relentless storms. Additionally, flooding brings extra challenges and complexities. The work is often slow and deliberate because of the extensive flooding and hard-to-reach, sometimes treacherous terrain. Several crews have deployed boats in severely flooded work areas. Safety for one another remains top of mind as crews work in dangerous conditions.

We continue to leverage resources on the ground, in the air and on boats to make our way to where work needs to be done. Across our service territory, the dangerous and high floodwaters slowed about a dozen individual repairs. With the sun shining, crews are hopeful the waters will recede to allow for this work to proceed.
