May 20, 2019 - Congratulations to Center FFA members, Lance Holloway and Wesley Wages, for placing first in the Pineywoods District and Area IX Star Greenhand divisions.
Lance competed in Star Greenhand Agribusiness. Wesley competed in Star Greenhand Production.
FFA members competing in Star Agribusiness have an entrepreneurial agribusiness SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience). This SAE revolves around agricultural sales, services, or other entrepreneurial endeavors.
FFA members competing in Star Production have a production agriculture SAE like animal or crop production. To document their finances and SAE hours, Lance and Wesley completed a detailed record book. Along with their record book and application, each boy participated in an interview. In this interview, each boy displayed their SAE knowledge and explained their finances, goals, successes, and learning outcomes.
Lance and Wesley will be competing at the State Degree Check on June 5th-7th at Tarleton State University. Currently, the boys are among the Top 12 individuals in Texas.
Lance and Wesley will be recognized at the 91st Texas FFA State Convention on July 15th-19th. The winners will be announced on stage. We wish them luck as they prepare for the final stage of competition!
