November 3, 2023 - Hello, my name is Fern Thomas Jernigan Jr. It is my great pleasure to announce that after much thought and prayer along with encouragement from my community that I am seeking the office of Constable Precinct 3.
For those that do not know me, I have been married to my wife Rebekah for a little over 4 years. I am the proud father of 3 amazing children Alizabeth 15, Daniel 2, and Matthew 1. I am a Christian and my family are active members of Center First UPC in Center, TX. On my days off I try to spend as much family time as possible which includes watching my daughter play softball.
I am a graduate of Center High School in 1998 and have been a resident of Shelby County my entire life. I attended Police Academy in Kilgore and graduated October of 2011. I have been in law enforcement for 12 years and currently hold an advanced peace officer license. I currently am a deputy for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
I am passionate about our community and want to see it thrive not only for my family but for yours as well. If elected constable my goals are to be a working constable and respond to calls or return phone calls in a timely manner providing a level of service that exceeds the expectations of our precinct’s residents. It is my mission to serve the public, create lasting relationships, and plan for the future. I would be involved with the community, helping wherever possible with youth or any organization needing a helping hand. One of the most important things would be to gain the respect of the citizens of Precinct 3 and being able to regain the trust of everyone for not only myself but all law enforcement to protect and serve. I have and will continue to have a good working relationship with all local agencies.
I would be honored to serve as the next Precinct 3 Constable. I believe if we can all come together and help one another we can make our community a better and safer place to raise our families. Once again, I would like to ask the citizens of Precinct 3 to get out and vote to make our community a better place to live. May God bless each and everyone.
