Karren Price Seeking Re-Election for District Attorney

To the Voters of Shelby County:

November 14, 2023 - Here we are once again, on the cusp of a presidential campaign year, and I am announcing my candidacy for District Attorney, 123rd Judicial District. As I have said before many times, serving as your District Attorney has been near to a calling for me and it has been my great honor to serve you in that capacity.

For the curious among you, I feel better than I have ever felt in my life. For those who may be unaware, on July 09, 2022, I had a heart transplant. I am grateful to be here to be able to ask you for your vote one more time. I am ever mindful of how fragile life is and the importance of spending every ounce of energy every day trying to make a difference for others.

Crime doesn't take a break or slow down, it just changes lanes, so when we think we have one area addressed, another raises its ugly head. Even so, the District Attorney's office is moving cases at a record pace, and we continually seek new ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness. One of the important improvements was the purchase of a computer program which allows law enforcement to upload case reports from their desktop to mine with a keystroke. While the initial outlay was pricey, the time and paper conserved is dramatic.

I want to personally thank every man and woman in law enforcement for your continued dedication and service. They work so hard and for little pay. We don't thank them often enough.

Our primary elections will be in March of next year. I will be on the Republican ballot. I appreciate your consideration for District Attorney. Feel free to phone my office at 936-598-2489 or come by to visit any time. Thank you.
