July 21, 2020 - Clara Murphy could not have the traditional recitals this spring due to the pandemic. Four private piano recitals were held in the studio in Murphy’s home in the Butts Addition. Masks and social distancing were utilized.
On June 29, 2020 Charlisa Teagle played her pieces for friends and family. Prelude in C by Bach and Canon in D by Pachebel were played on the piano. Tarantella was played on Murphy’s large church organ in her studio.
On July 6, 2020, Amelia Gay and Myah Gay of Hemphill played before family. Amelia also played Movie Thriller on the organ. Myah played on the piano.
July 14, 2020 was the date that Aspen Morton and Grace McReynolds delighted their families. Grace played The Spider Dance on the organ which also involved playing the organ pedals. Grace was also joined by Dr. Jim McReynolds in a duet Aspen played many beautiful pieces on the piano.
On July 20, 2020, Bonnie Consford entertained her family with both piano and organ selections. She also played organ pedals on Tarantella.
Normal lessons will resume in the fall or the beginning of school year.
