December 11, 2015 - The Pineywoods Board of Realtors made a donation to the Shelby County Outreach Ministries on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at their location on Shelbyville Street. The board arrived with a large number of boxes filled with food.
Receiving the donation was Sherry Harding, Shelby County Outreach Ministries Executive Director, who expressed her appreciation to the board.
This is the first time for the Pineywoods Board of Realtors o have the food drive, as they have had other fundraisers in the past. Jodi Fountain, Secretary/Treasurer of the Pineywoods Board of Realtors, gave some background on the food drive.
"This is the first year for us to do the food drive, we also do scholarships at each one of the schools every year, and last year we did a fan drive," said Fountain. "We just kind of changed to [the food drive] because this need was greater."
According to Harding, the food which was donated has an estimated value of $1,000 which is a generous donation.
