Shelby County Grand Jury Indicts 61 Cases Including a Capital Murder Case

June 2, 2021 - A Shelby County Grand Jury handed down 61 indictments including a capital murder case from April 2021 on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

The grand jury was impaneled for the July 2020 term of the 123rd Judicial District Court, and grand jury was held in both the 123rd and 273rd Judicial District courts. Due to COVID-19, there has been a backlog of cases and the grand jury impaneled just before pandemic restrictions were put in place is meeting again to complete their duties.

Angel Sequera-Dominguez was indicted for capital murder, capital felony. The indictment alleges Sequera-Dominguez, on April 9, 2021, intentionally caused the death of Saulo Moreno-Gonzalez by shooting him in the head two times during the course of a robbery. Angel Sequera-Dominguez was indicted for aggravated robbery, first degree felony. The indictment alleges Sequera-Dominguez, on April 9, 2021, while in the course of committing theft of property threatened to place Saulo Moreno-Gonzalez in fear of imminent bodily injury or death, while exhibiting a .40 caliber Beretta handgun.

Angel Sequera-Dominguez was indicted for forgery, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Sequera-Dominguez, on April 13, 2021, executed a writing purported to be the act of Saulo Sequera-Dominguez, who did not authorize the act, in the amount of $755.85.

Landon Yarbrough was indicted for escape, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Yarbrough, on September 19, 2020, escaped from the custody of Willis Blackwell, who was then and there the Sheriff of Shelby County.

Landon Yarbrough was indicted for assault on a public servant, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Yarbrough, on September 19, 2020, recklessly caused bodily injury to Lucas Brazzel by striking him in the head with his fist multiple times. Yarbrough knew at that time Brazzel was a Jailer at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and was attempting to get Yarbrough back into his cell.

Landon Yarbrough was indicted for assault on a public servant, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Yarbrough, on September 19, 2020, recklessly caused bodily injury to Hayden Jordan by striking him in the head with his fist multiple times. Yarbrough knew at that time Jordan was a Jailer at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and was attempting to get Yarbrough back into his cell.

Douglas Wade Creech was indicted for assault - family violence - occlusion, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Creech, on April 26, 2021, recklessly caused bodily injury to Crystal Duke, a person whom Creech had a dating relationship as described in the Texas Family Code. The indictment further alleges Creech recklessly impeded the normal breathing or circulation of the blood of Duke by applying pressure to the throat or neck, and/or blocking the nose or mouth.

Ethan Hendricks was indicted for burglary of a habitation, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Hendricks, on April 27, 2021, with intent to commit theft entered a habitation without consent of Makayla Baker, the owner.

Ricky James Jackson was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Jackson, on March 30, 2021, threatened Geana Cheshire with imminent bodily injury while exhibiting a short blade machete.

Ricky James Jackson was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Jackson, on August 17, 2020, recklessly caused bodily injury to Jodie Doggett by striking her repeatedly about her face and head. Jackson did then and there exhibit a rifle.

Shyanne Nicole Raney was indicted for hindering apprehension or prosecution, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Raney, on March 30, 2021, harbored or concealed Ricky James Jackson with intent to hinder the arrest, prosecution, conviction or punishment of James for the offense of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Jaquarius Stanley was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Stanley, on January 9, 2021, recklessly caused bodily injury to Demarcus Xavier Page by shooting Page with a Taurus firearm.

Jaquarius Stanley was indicted for aggravated robbery, first degree felony. The indictment alleges Stanley, on January 9, 2021, while in the course of committing theft of property threatened to place Demarcus Xavier Page in fear of imminent bodily injury or death, while exhibiting a firearm.

Dayreion Isaac was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Isaac, on October 26, 2020, recklessly caused bodily injury to Latundra Nickerson by hitting Nickerson in the head with a brick.

Dayreion Isaac was indicted for evading arrest - prior convictions, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Isaac, on July 28, 2020, fled from Officer Michael Davidson. The indictment further states Isaac was previously convicted of the offense of evading arrest in Angelina County Court at Law.

Carl Richard Hightower was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Hightower, on April 30, 2019, recklessly threatened Elizabeth Bowley with imminent bodily injury by ramming his vehicle into Bowley's vehicle. The indictment further states Bowley exhibited a deadly weapon, a black motor vehicle.

Brandon Lynn Fanestiel was indicted for unlawful possession of firearm, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Fanestiel, on March 4, 2021, possessed a bolt action shotgun after the fifth anniversary of his release from confinement following conviction of a previous felony. The indictment further states Fanestiel was previously convicted of the felony offense of theft of property in Orange County November 11, 1998. 

Brandon Lynn Fanestiel was indicted for burglary of a building, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Fanestiel, on March 4, 2021, had intent to commit theft when entering a building or portion of a building not then open to the public without consent of Vincent Diverdi, the owner.

Jesse Lee Williams, age 38, was indicted for forgery - against elderly individual, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Williams, on March 6, 2020, with intent to defraud or harm another, namely, Jimmy Howard Brister, an elderly individual 65 years of age or older. The indictment further alleges, Williams wrote a check so it purported to be the act of Brister in the amount of $1,900, from a Shelby Savings Bank account.

Joshua Ray Beasley was indicted for theft of firearm, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Beasley, on September 2, 2020, took a pink DPMS AR-15 firearm from Josey Permenter, the owner, without her consent.

Joshua Ray Beasley was indicted for forgery, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Beasley, on November 14, 2020, wrote a check so it purported to be the act of Patricia Byrd, who did not authorize the act, on a Farmers State Bank account for the amount of $200.

Joshua Ray Beasley was indicted for forgery, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Beasley, on November 16, 2020, wrote a check so it purported to be the act of Patricia Byrd, who did not authorize the act, on a Farmers State Bank account for the amount of $300. 

Joshua Ray Beasley was indicted for theft, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Beasley, on September 2, 2020, took a blue Kawasaki T-Rex ATV valued at $2,500 or more but less than $30,000 from the owner, Teri Byrd.

Monty Allen Clark was indicted for theft, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Clark, on August 4, 2020, took a 2019 Skeeter, FX21 valued at $30,000 or more but less than $150,000 from the owner, Amanda Robbins.

Faustino Canada was indicted for forgery, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Canada, on March 3, 2021, made a writing so it purported to be the act of Shelia Martin, SMAC Mgmt. LLC, who did not authorize the act. The check was written of the tenor: Farmers State Bank, in the amount of $630.

Jeremy David Burcham was indicted for violation of certain court orders or conditional bond, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Burcham, on October 17, 2019, violated the terms of a protective order issued by Hon. Jim Parsons, Senior Judge of the 3rd Judicial District Court, acting as a visiting judge for the 1st Judicial District Court of San Augustine County, on September 12, 2019 by communicating through a third party namely, Justices of the Peace of Shelby County. The indictment further states Burcham sent each of them a letter containing threatening remarks to Shanayah Warr Burcham, a protected person. Said letter was given to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, and was then given to the 123rd Judicial District Judge's office. Out of fear for the protected person, the letter was then given to Burcham and the nature of the threat was, communicating with a protected person in a threatening or harassing manner.

Douglas Lynn Eaves was indicted for burglary of a building, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Eaves, on December 27, 2020, had intent to commit theft when entering a building or portion of a building not then open to the public, without consent of Albert Redler, the owner, and committed theft of an air compressor and a battery charger.

Jeremy David Burcham was indicted for terroristic threat, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Burcham, on December 16, 2019, threatened to commit an offense involving violence to a person, namely, executed and mailed correspondence wherein he threatened to commit an offense involving violence to one or more persons, with intent to place the public or substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury.  

Alvin Jerome Davis II, was indicted for burglary of a building, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Davis, on July 21, 2015, entered a building or portion of a building without consent of Farmers Banc Shares Inc., Center, Texas, the owner, and committed theft of a safe owned by Farmers Banc Shares Inc., Center, Texas.

Markquez Antwoine Turner was indicted for theft, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Turner, on April 12, 2020, took nine sets of Beats headphones, six Nest doorbells, and other miscellaneous items valued at $2,500 or more but less than $30,000 from Walmart Super Store, the owner, without consent. The indictment further states Turner on June 16, 2017, was convicted of the offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and on March 1, 2019, was also convicted of the offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Raymond Lakendrick Copeland was indicted for burglary of a building, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Copeland, on March 3, 2021, entered a building or portion of a building without the consent of the owner, Charles Mercer, and committed theft of two saddles.

Keisha Renae Shavers was indicted for forgery, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Shavers, on September 25, 2017, with intent to commit forgery Shavers sent an email pretending to be Jason Buddin, CEO of Toledo Finance Corp. to Lisa Barbee, Administrative Vice President of Toledo Finance Corp requesting a wire transfer of $30,982 from Cygnus account to G6 Enterprises, LLC via Chase Bank.

Keisha Renae Shavers was indicted for forgery, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Shavers, on September 21, 2017, with intent to commit forgery Shavers sent an email pretending to be Jason Buddin, CEO of Toledo Finance Corp. to Lisa Barbee, Administrative Vice President of Toledo Finance Corp requesting a wire transfer of $45,872 from Cygnus account to be sent from Farmers State Bank via Bank of America.

Billie Page was indicted for burglary of a building, state jail felony - enhanced to third degree felony. The indictment alleges Page, on August 7, 2020, with intent to commit theft entered a building or portion of a building not open to the public without consent of Pilgrim's Pride Corp., the owner. The indictment further states Page was previously convicted in January 1984 for burglary and August 1986 for burglary of a habitation.

Charles Seth Alexander was indicted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Alexander, on December 21, 2020, operated a motor vehicle without consent of the owner, Bettie Griffin.

Eric Jerome Nobles was indicted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Nobles, on October 13, 2020, operated a motor vehicle without consent of the owner, Mindaye Tura Guga.

Vincent Amos Aaron was indicted for interference with child custody, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Aaron, on September 21, 2020, retained two children younger than 18 years of age when Aaron knew that said retention violated the express terms of a judgment or an order of a court disposing of the children's custody.

Mary Elizabeth Chantzifotis was indicted for interference with child custody, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Chantzifotis, on April 9, 2021, retained a child younger than 18 years of age when Chantzifotis knew that said retention violated the express terms of a judgment or an order of a court disposing of the children's custody.

Kardarious Moore was indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm, third degree felony. The indictment alleges Moore, on May 23, 2020, possessed a firearm before the fifth anniversary of his release from confinement following conviction of a previous felony. Moore was convicted January 31, 2019 for the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance.

Vincent Edward Moody was indicted for burglary of a building, state jail felony. The indictment alleges Moody, on October 8, 2020, attempted to commit or committed theft of a compound bow, battery charger, tablet, SL 1000, PLX meter and card readers owned by City of Center.

David Wayne Carroll was indicted for possession or promotion of child pornography, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Carroll, on June 5, 2017, promoted by having possession of images on his cell phone device, or possess with intent to promote visual material that visually depicted, and which Carroll knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct. 

David Wayne Carroll was indicted for possession or promotion of child pornography, second degree felony. The indictment alleges Carroll, on June 5, 2017, promoted by having possession of six more more identical depictions of the same child on his cell phone device, or possess with intent to promote visual material that visually depicted, and which Carroll knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct.
