February 26, 2024 - (Photo Album) - Timpson Masonic Lodge #437 held a meet the candidate event on February 3, 2024, at the Community Building in SoSo Park.
The event was opened by Lodge member Tuffy Green and emcee and auctioneer was Tracy Broadway, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4.
Candidates present included District Attorney - Karren Price (Incumbent); County Attorney - Jeff Adams and John Price (Incumbent); State Representative - Joanne Shofner via proxy speaker and Travis Clardy (Incumbent); Sheriff - Gerald Corbell, Jimmy Faulkner, and Willis Blackwell; Constable Precinct 5 - Josh Tipton; and Constable Precinct 3 - Roy Cheatwood.
Throughout the evening each candidate present spoke and following each candidate a cake or other baked good was auctioned off to raise funding for the Masonic Lodge roof.
By the end of the evening’s events, the estimated total raised was around $5,600 with the highest selling cake going for $1,000.
