May 28, 2021 – The official ribbon was cut in Center, Texas to open one of only seven "Bright Blue" Health Centers across the country on Friday, May 28th. Chamber of Commerce President Deborah Chadwick shared the excitement of the occasion and introduced Amber Dodd who is the Tyson HR Manager.
Dodd welcomed everyone attending and gave a little background, "I do thank you all for being here. We are very excited about this opportunity for our team members. The Bright Blue Health Clinic is an initiative that Tyson started thinking about over a year ago. To all of our team members, no cost health care, to encourage team members who are maybe not getting the healthcare they need right now for various factors, you know we do have insurance available, but this just breaks down one more of those barriers and puts healthcare in the location where we need it to make it easier for our team members to access."
Tyson Complex Manager Vince Lucas added, "Thank all of ya'll for being here. This is great for Tyson Foods, great for the community. We just want to offer everything for the best of our team members to take care of our people."
Tom Dillon, Family Nurse Practitioner with Marathon Health, explained, "Our focus hopefully will be on wellness, so, it's prevention, identification of things that are silent killers, like high blood pressure that we can help to address so that people don't have complications later on in life. You try to keep your workforce well and productive and happy, and we are also here for their spouses and for their families too." He mentioned plans to incorporate virtual visits as well to be just that much more accessible to Tyson employees and their families.
As part of efforts to boost the overall health and wellness of its workforce, Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) has partnered with Marathon Health to pilot seven “Bright Blue” health centers near company production facilities. This Health Center will service the Center and Carthage Tyson plants providing prevention through health screenings, health coaching, and chronic condition coaching.
