February 5, 2024 - The 2024 Primary Election takes place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 with early voting starting February 20, 2024 and ending March 1, 2024. Once again, in the county races all candidates filed to run on the Republican ticket. Both County Chairs, Republican and Democratic, were unopposed. There are five races with opponents: County Attorney; Sheriff; Commissioner Precinct 3; Justice of the Peace Precinct 4; and Constable Precinct 3.

On the State level, there are only two offices unopposed: District Judge - 123rd Judicial District and District Attorney - 123rd Judicial District. On the Federal level, only one office is unopposed, U.S. Representative District 1. All the other State and Federal offices have both Republican and Democratic candidates and will be decided in the November 5th General Election.
