2016 Taxidermy Project County Contest

April 18, 2016 - When you think of 4-H most think of a youth organization that provides opportunities with the livestock, horses, food, fashion, photography, shooting sports and leadership, just to name a few.  These projects are some of the banner programs that are offered but 4-H is more than that.  This year, Shelby County 4-H has kicked off a new project, Taxidermy.

Food Handler’s Training Course to be Offered

April 8, 2016 - A food handler’s course, accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services, is being offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.  Food Safety:  It’s In Your Hands will be offered by the Shelby County Extension Office on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the active Shelby County Courthouse, 2nd floor community room in Center, Texas 75935. 

Shelby County 4-H Rabies Vaccination Clinics

March 18, 2016 - Shelby County 4-H Clubs in cooperation with local veterinarian Mark Jousan will sponsor rabies vaccination clinics Saturday, April 2nd and 9th. Dr. Mark Jousan will be vaccinating dogs and cats for rabies.

Pet owners are urged to have their pets vaccinated annually for rabies. The Shelby County Extension Agents and the 4-H Clubs of Shelby County encourage you to bring your pets to be vaccinated for only $10.00 each.
