April 19, 2022 - It was reported by a family member, on April 16, 2022, at approximately 1:42pm, to the Center Police Department that one Marcus Dewaynn Roberts, a 51-year-old black male, approximately 6’ tall, and approximately 250 pounds, has been missing since April 3, 2022.
December 17, 2021 - The Center Police Department (CPD) Patrol Division received a 911 call in reference to distraught female threatening suicide in the 1100 block of Cottonford Road on December 17, 2021, at approximately 6:45am.
CPD Patrol Officers Robert Lee, and Brian Wright responded to the area and met with family. It was then learned that the female subject had left the scene on foot.
The Shelby County Sheriff's office Patrol Division then arrived to assist in locating the female subject.

November 6, 2020 - After multiple reports of storage buildings being burglarized in the City of Center over a period of several months, Center Police Department Street Crimes Detectives were able to develop a suspect vehicle by security camera footage.
A Bolo Report was put out within the Department in an attempt to locate the vehicle. Officer M. Davidson located the vehicle and made an identification of the driver the first night the Bolo was released.
September 11, 2019 - The Center Police Department newly formed Street Crimes Unit along with members of the Police Department’s Tactical Narcotics Team executed a narcotics search warrant at 601 MLK Drive on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
July 29, 2019 - The Center Police Department received numerous reports of Burglaries of motor vehicles in the general San Augustine St. area from mid-June to July 24th.
Several firearms were taken from the vehicles, along with other items.
