February 6, 2020 - Newly sworn in Constable of Precinct 4 Bryan Gray announced on Facebook on Thursday, February 6, he was resigning from office due to health issues.
Update - The suspect provided law enforcement with incorrect identification and will be receiving an additional charge of Failure to Identify. The suspect is actually Jeremy Wade, age 30.
January 28, 2020 - The Center Police Department received a call Tuesday, January 28th for shots fired on Carroll Street around 10am.

January 23, 2020 - Shelbyville High School Senior Kolby Parker was selected out of hundreds of applications to receive a new car from Premier Kia in Lufkin, Texas.
January 23, 2020 - The Center ISD Roughrider Academy will have Winter Graduation on Thursday, January 23rd at 6:30pm. The graduation will be in the CHS Cafetorium. Everyone is invited to attend as many helped in shaping the lives of these young ladies and young men. With 18 students graduating and several receiving scholarships, it is going to be a very special night.

Once again, all candidates running for local Shelby County offices filed on the Republican Party ballot. County Chair candidates are Democrat Party - Patsy A. Handy and Republican Party - Leigh Porterfield.
