January 23, 2020 - The Center ISD Roughrider Academy will have Winter Graduation on Thursday, January 23rd at 6:30pm. The graduation will be in the CHS Cafetorium. Everyone is invited to attend as many helped in shaping the lives of these young ladies and young men. With 18 students graduating and several receiving scholarships, it is going to be a very special night.

December 10, 2019 - The filing deadline for a place on the 2020 Primary Democrat and Republican Ballots expired as of 6pm on Monday, December 9, 2019.
Once again, all candidates running for local Shelby County offices filed on the Republican Party ballot. County Chair candidates are Democrat Party - Patsy A. Handy and Republican Party - Leigh Porterfield.
December 31, 2019 - Shelby County Today offers condolences to the family and friends of the Panola County Sheriff's Deputy killed in the line of duty early Tuesday morning. December 23, 2019 - Santa's Christmas Parade winners were presented checks by the Award's Sponsor - the City of Center on Monday, December 23, 2019 by Mayor David Chadwick.
"I really want to thank y'all very much for participating in our annual parade," City of Center Mayor David Chadwick expressed.
December 23, 2019 - An Associated Press article released on December 17th listed Center High School football player Keomadre Horace in their Sports Editors Class 4A all-state high school football team picks. Horace received Honorable Mention All-State Running Back recognition.
November 27, 2019 - The Center HS Theater class will be performing "Christmas at the Rio" at 4:30pm with the box office opening at 4pm on Saturday, December 7th.
Be sure to get your popcorn before the parade starts at 6pm. Following the parade, the Rio will be showing "Last Christmas" at 7:30pm.
And best of all downtown businesses will be open all day for Christmas Shopping.
November 27, 2019 - Following acceptance of resignations for two Justice of the Peace by the Commissioners' Court, the list of offices below to be included on the 2020 Primary Ballot has been updated. Filing for a place on the ballot ends December 9, 2019.
November 18, 2019 - The upcoming Presidental election has dominated the national news; however, it isn't the only office to be included on the 2020 Primary Election ballot.
