November 17, 2016 - The Center City Council approved street closures on December 3 and December 12 for holiday parades on the square following discussion over needed repairs in the city park.

A motion was carried by the council approving street closures for the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Annual Lighted Christmas Parade on December 3, 2016 and for the St. Therese Catholic Church Our Lady of Guadalupe Procession/Parade on December 12, 2016.

November 13, 2016 - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover on FM 417 Friday, November 11, 2016 just under two miles from Shelbyville.

November 13, 2016 - ACE EMS was dispatched to the scene of an incident where a man was run over by a pickup truck just under two and a half miles north of the Center city limits on U.S. 96 North.

November 10, 2016 - Hurst Street at the intersection of Nacogdoches Street in Center was the scene of a three-vehicle crash Thursday, November 10, 2016 which provided major damage to the vehicles and traffic delays during a high traffic time period.
