Fillies Lose Road Thriller in Overtime

January 28, 2019 - A total team effort was not enough for the Fillies who dropped an 82-91 overtime thriller against the #14 Angelina Roadrunners Saturday in District 14 play.  

A game that saw over 20 lead changes and 15 ties. The Fillies entered the fourth quarter with a seven-point lead, which would reach as high 10. But the Roadrunners would come roaring back and would take the lead with four minutes left in the contest. The back and forth battle continued with both teams responding.

Hot Shooting Leads Panola to Victory at #14 Trinity Valley

January 24, 2019 - Panola went into Trinity Valley Wednesday and came away with an 84-65 victory. The Ponies were able to ride the hot hands of Josh Williams (27 points) 10-13, 6-7 from 3 and Kamari Brown (21 points) 9-11, 3-5 from 3 to the win. Panola would start out the game hot and lead 42-35 at half. In the second half the lead would only grow from there. Panola’s defense held the Cardinals to only 36% from the floor and were able to hold their best player, Tyson Jolly who came in averaging close to 30 points per game, to 17 points.

Another Defensive Stand Propels the Fillies into Victory

January 24, 2019 - For the second straight game, a defensive driven first half leads the Fillies to another win. After a 21-5 start, the Fillies would take off running, beating the Jacksonville College Jaguars, 68-46. The Fillies, who on Saturday held Bossier Parish to an eight-point quarter, brought the same defense home Wednesday. The Fillies held the Jaguars to a mere 5 points in the first, 6 in the second and 13 in the third. The Fillies lead reached 30 points at one point in the game. 

Ponies Fall At Home to Kilgore

January 21, 2019 - Panola was unable to extend their winning streak to 9, instead falling at home 64-62 to Kilgore. After a back and forth first half, the Ponies were able to take a 28-23 lead into the locker room at half. Panola started off hot in the second half, extending their lead to 40-30. But Kilgore came right back. With the score tied 62 all, Kilgore got the ball inside and got a dunk to put them up two with 45 seconds to play. Panola would turn the ball over on the ensuing possession. Kilgore then missed two free throws to give the Ponies one last shot.
