September 8, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will host a relocation ribbon cutting for Luquette Chiropractic, owner David Luquette, on Thursday, September 8th at 11:00 a.m. Luquette Chiropractic is now located at 232 Tenaha Street in Center.
September 2, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors along with Betsy Swanzy, owner of East Texas Awards & Engraving, will welcome Chamber members to a Business After Hours event on Monday, September 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 118 Nacogdoches Street on the downtown Center square.
East Texas Awards & Engraving provides a variety of awards, trophies, plaques, certificates, medals and ribbons for individual design. They also have a wide selection of gifts available for personalized engraving.
September 1, 2016 - The 40th East Texas Poultry Festival, presented by Farmers State Bank, is fast approaching. The Poultry Festival is slated for October 6, 7 and 8 and the Entertainment Committee chairs, Danny Paul and Sally Windham, are seeking volunteer talented artist to perform on the Frances Oates Stage, sponsored by Specter, Inc. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6 will be “Big Tent Open Mic” open to anyone that wishes to share their talent.
September 1, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce seeks recipes for the Chicken Cooking Contest, sponsored by Tyson Foods, that will be held on super Wednesday, September 28, 2016 immediately following the 40th East Texas Poultry Festival Doo Dah parade sponsored by Center Tire. The event will be held on the east side of the historic downtown Center square and is open to all county residents. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move to the active Shelby County Courthouse community room.
August 29, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will celebrate with the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center and CASA of East Texas at their new jointly occupied location at 131 Tenaha Street on Tuesday, August 30, at 4pm.
The move is made possible by the generosity of the Davis Foundation after they acquired the former Griffin Law Office building.
August 18, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public to a new member ribbon cutting for Children’s Dental Center, on Thursday, August 25 at 4:00 p.m., with owner Dr. Thomas Youngblood. Children’s Dental Center is located at 128 Nacogdoches Street in Center. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Thomas Youngblood and his children’s dentistry team offer comprehensive dental care for patients from six months to 20 years old.
August 19, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the East Texas Poultry Festival will be October 6-8 on the historic downtown square. One of several preliminary festivities is the Queen's Court Scholarship Pageant. The reigning East Texas Poultry Festival Queen, Camaryn Smith, will crown her successor on Saturday, October 1 on stage at Center High School.
August 19, 2016 - The deadline to apply for an Arts and Crafts vendor booth at the 40th East Texas Poultry Festival sponsored by Farmers State Bank has been extended to Friday, September 2. The festival will take place October 6-8 on the historic downtown Center Square. Limited spaces are still available and the applications are being accepted at the Shelby County Chamber office.
August 15, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce will welcome the Leadership Shelby County Class of 2017 with a casual dinner at Sombreros on Wednesday, August 17. The Leadership Shelby County committee and alumni will be the hosts and hostess for the event. Leadership Shelby County is a yearlong program designed to identify potential leaders and develop within these individuals the knowledge, skills and vision necessary to enable them to actively participate in the enhancement of their communities.
