October 16, 2018 - The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting October 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shelby County Museum located on Pecan Street. The speaker this month will be Mr. Larry Hume. He will speak to us about the 100th Anniversary of World War I. Everyone is invited to attend.

May 3, 2018 - The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 2 P. M. in the Shelby County Museum at 230 Pecan Street. The guest speaker this month will be long time Center resident, Leon Aldridge. Leon is a native of Mount Pleasant in North East Texas with a 44 year career in communications that includes newspaper, marketing, public relations and education. He has twice served as Editor and Publisher of East Texas Light and Light & Champion newspapers in Center. Everyone is invited to attend.

March 20, 2018 - The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. Our guest speaker this month will be Mr. Bill O'Neal. Mr. O'Neal is the Texas State Historian and is a well-known author. He has written many books about the history of Texas. He taught history for many years at Panola College. Everyone is invited to attend.

February 8, 2018 - The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting February 20, 2018 at 2pm in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. Our guest speaker this month will be Maggie Casto. 

She will speak about Frontier Medicine. Everyone is invited to attend. 

September 7, 2017 - The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting September 19, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. Our guest speaker this month will be Colleen Doggett. She will speak to us about the Early Century Ferry Landings on the Sabine River. Everyone is invited to attend.
