First United Methodist Church Hosts Soup & Chili Cook-off, Annual Talent Show

February 14, 2019 – Save the date and join us for an evening of family fun, food and fellowship! The First United Methodist Church (UMC) of Center Missions and Outreach Committee will host their inaugural Soup and Chili Cook-off competition on Sun., February 17, 2019 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the church Fellowship Hall located at 211 Porter Street. The First UMC annual Talent Show will begin at 6:00 p.m. following the cook-off.

First United Methodist Church of Center to Present Annual Christmas Cantata

December 14, 2018 – A longtime Christmas tradition continues at the First United Methodist Church (UMC) of Center as the church’s Chancel Choir presents its annual Christmas Cantata. Rev. Karen Jones extends the invitation for everyone to attend the cantata on Sunday, December 16 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Center First UMC located at 211 Porter Street.

Little Free Library Ribbon Cutting at Center FUMC Celebrates Literacy

July 10, 2018 – Little Free Libraries are a global phenomenon. The small, front‐yard book exchanges number 70,000 registered Little Free Libraries in all 50 states and 85 countries around the world. Now, a new Little Free Library at the Center First United Methodist Church (UMC) located at 211 Porter Street in Center, Texas will join the movement to share books, bring people together and create communities of readers. Center First UMC will host their Ribbon Cutting Celebration for their Little Free Library on Thursday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m.

Center First United Methodist Church Announces Pumpkin Patch Grand Opening for Sunday

September 30, 2017 - The Center First United Methodist Church (FUMC) announces the Grand Opening of their annual Pumpkin Patch fundraiser at 211 Porter Street on Sunday, October 1 from 12pm until 3pm. Pumpkins of different varieties and sizes, Indian corn and gourds will be available for purchase ranging between $2 and $15 and will be displayed on the lawn behind the church making for a great photo opportunity. Donations from this year’s Pumpkin Patch will assist with the purchase of a defibrillator for the church.
