CGC Learns About Creative Floral Design

March 5, 2018 - On February 14, Center Garden Club (CGC)enjoyed an interesting and most informative demonstration and discussion of the principles underlying various types of creative designs, including under-water and abstract designs. The program was presented by Betty Eddleman, Nell Anderson, and Pam Sykes who are both club members and National Garden Club-certified flower show judges.

Center Garden Club 51st Annual Small Standard Flower Show Awards

April 24, 2017 (More Photos) - Center Garden Club hosted its 51st annual Small Standard Flower Show, “Cultivating Joy,” at the Community House on April 7, 2017.  The show, chaired by Cherry Jones, consisted of three divisions: I, Horticulture; II, Floral Design; and III, Special Exhibits.  All awards were determined by six National Garden Club-certified judges.

Center Garden Club Teaches Floral Design to Elementary Students

April 4, 2017 - Approximately forty-five students participated in a hands-on floral design activity under the leadership of Center Garden Club members Ann Hitt, Janette Wittmann, Cherry Jones, and Carolyn Bounds.

Women's Reading Club Visits Texas Country Music Hall of Fame

April 13, 2015 - Center's Women's Reading Club recently enjoyed a special program hosted by the Carthage Book Club at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Carthage. Co- authors Lana Higginbotham and Mary Felder shared the genesis of their book, Between the Letters, the beautiful biographical account of Charles and Mary Felder's romance and life together from their chance meeting during World War II until Charles's death in 2001.

Center's Women's Reading Club March Meeting

April 7, 2015 - The Woman's Reading Club met on March 19 in the home of Mrs. Billie Sue Payne. President Donna Holt presided. The club welcomed guest Caroline Chadwick and expressed happy birthday wishes to her in recognition of her turning 21 on that day. Miss Chadwick is the daughter of member Mrs. Deborah Chadwick and the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Marleta Chadwick who was a Woman's Reading Club member for many years.
