May 18, 2015 - The Center High School Varsity Baseball team claimed the Area Championship in Gary last Friday night in a dominate double header against Groesbeck.
The Riders outscored the Goats 29-2 in a two game series that sends them to the next round of playoffs this week.
The Roughriders will be against a familiar foe, the Hudson Hornets.
The series will begin on Thursday night, May 21st in Gary with game time at 7 PM. Game 2 will be on Friday night, May 22nd in Gary at 7 PM and if needed, Game 3 will be on Saturday, May 23rd in Gary at 1 PM.
May 5, 2015 - Jesse McGraw, Senior Cheer Co-Captain at Center High School tried out for cheerleader at the University of Houston on Saturday, May 2nd. There were 40 participants at a gruleing clinic that lasted two days.
May 5, 2015 - The National Speech and Debate Association is proud to announce Douglas Moore as its newest diamond coach. Moore, of Center HS, Texas, received a First Diamond Award after earning 1,501 points on November 3, 2014.
May 4, 2015 - The Center Roughriders Baseball team secured first place in district last Friday night after a victory over Rusk. The Riders will be in first round playoff action this weekend against Huntington. Game 1 will be on Friday, May 8th in Center at 7 PM. Game 2 will be played on Saturday, May 9th at 1 PM in Huntington. Game 3 will follow 30 minutes following game 2 if needed.
April 27, 2015 - The Center High School Track team traveled to Carthage High School on Wednesday, April 22nd for the Area Track Meet. Zara Sloan, a Junior, competed in the two mile and clocked a time only two seconds off of her personal best. She came up just short of a regional bid but did a great job.
April 24, 2015 - Last week, students at CMS from Jennifer Ferguson's 4th period class participated in a Mystery Skype with a class from Elkton, Virginia. Students had to figure out where in the U.S. the other class was from by asking yes or no questions regarding their geography. The other class did the same for students at CMS. Mrs. Ferguson said, "As a class, we came up with a list of possible questions before the day of the call. Each student in the class had a job to do during the Skype call.
