National Day of Prayer on the Square May 13

May 11, 2021 - National Day of Prayer Event is set for Thursday, May 13 from noon until 12:30pm in front of our Historic Courthouse.

Join the leaders and pastors of our community as we pray for America, for our First Responders and Military, for our Churches and for our Schools.

Join us as we meet "in the center of Center" to celebrate the Power of Prayer.

First Baptist Church of Center hosts Eggstravaganza

March 21, 2021 - A "drive-by" community event at First Baptist Church of Center will be held on Saturday, April 3 from 10am until 11am. Come get some eggs, candy and get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny! First Baptist Church of Center is located across the street from the Historic Courthouse. First Baptist Church Kids Events

September 14, 2020 - FBC Kids – a Wednesday evening event for children at First Baptist Center – begins with a Pizza Party in the Gym Wednesday, September 16, 6-7pm.

FBC Kids is for 3yrs – 6th grade, happens every Wednesday during the school year, and features music, crafts, activities, and “hands-on” Bible study.

Sunday School Restarts at FBC Center

June 11, 2020 - First Baptist Church of Center, 117 Cora, will re-open its Sunday School to the public on Sunday, June 14, 9:00am. Classes for all ages will be offered with special attention to social distancing and safety. Open worship service begins at 10:15. Sunday School and Worship will continue to be broadcast on SuddenLink cable channel 2, FM radio 100.5, fbccenter.org, and on our Face Book page. For more information, call 936-598-5605.

National Day of Prayer - Thursday, May 7, Noon

May 7, 2020 - Last year community leaders, pastors, and lots of just plain folks gathered to form a human prayer chain around our historic courthouse on the National Day of Prayer. We won't be able to gather this year but you are encouraged to pause, wherever you are, at noon on Thursday, May 7 to pray.

Lots of things are different this year, but some things remain the same - prayer is powerful and prayer is needed. So take a moment on Thursday to pray for our city, our county, our country, our world. Thanks and God bless you and yours.

December 23, 2019 - First Baptist Center, 117 Cora, will host a Community Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 6:00pm on Tuesday, December 24.

November 20, 2019 - First Baptist Center, 117 Cora, will host a Community Thanksgiving Celebration service Sunday, November 24, 6pm. All churches are warmly invited! There will be food and fellowship following the service.

English As A Second Language Class at First Baptist of Center

September 9, 2019 - First Baptist Church of Center will be starting an ESL Class on Thursday, September 19, 6pm - 8pm. It will run every Thursday evening through the school year. It is free and anyone is welcome. The church is located at 117 Cora Street – just across from the Old Courthouse.

Gospel Concert, Ice Cream Fellowship at First Baptist Center

May 23, 2019 - On Sunday, June 2 at 6pm First Baptist Center will host another of it’s concert and fellowship series called "First Sunday @ First!" This is a community event and the evening will start with a concert of gospel music featuring local musicians and some out of town guests. At 7pm you’re invited to "Show & Tell" - a unique ice cream fellowship with dozens of displays of crafts, artwork, collections, and hobbies. Join us for "First Sunday @ First!"
