March 1, 2022 (English/Spanish) - Notice is hereby given that the polling places listed below will be open from 7am to 7pm, March 1, 2022, for voting in the general primary election for the Democrat Party to nominate Members of Congress, Members of the Legislature, and state, district, county, and precinct officers.
February 11, 2022 - Early voting in the 2022 March 1st Primary Elections begin on February 14th and end February 25th at the Center Community House, 425 San Augustine Street, Center, Texas.
Notice of Public Test of Automatic Tabulating Equipment
February 14, 2022 - Notice is hereby given that the automatic tabulating equipment that will be used in the Primary Election held on March 1, 2022 will be tested for Election Day Voting on 02/17/2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the County Clerk’s Office to ascertain that it will accurately count the votes cast for all positions on the ballot.

January 14, 2022 - Elections are upon us! If you are 65 or older, disabled, and would like to vote a ballot by mail, please contact the County Clerk's Office at 936-598-6361 to request an application. You can check the annual box on the application and you will be sent ballots for every election this year.
October 18, 2021 - Early voting started, October 18, 2021 and will continue thru October 29, 2021, for the upcoming Constitutional Amendment Election. There are 8 propositions on the ballot this year. Hours for early voting will be Monday thru Friday, 8-4:40pm, at the Center Community House. Election day will be November 2, 2021, at your regular polling location, from 7am to 7pm. If you have any questions, you may contact the County Clerk's Office at 936-598-6361.
August 26, 2021 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners' Court will be held on the 1st day of September, 2021 at 9:30am the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
July 29, 2021 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners' Court will be held on the 4th day of August, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
November 2, 2020 - The Shelby County Clerk's Office will be closed Monday, November 2, and Tuesday, November 3, due to the General Election. We will be in the office to answer any elections questions you have. You may call us at 936-598-6361. However, we will not be open for any other business these two days.
October 30, 2020 - Shelby County Clerk Jennifer Fountain reports early voting for the General Election ended at 4:30pm today and a total of 6,288 voters early voted!
If you missed out on early voting, you can vote Tuesday, November 3, 7am until 7pm, at your regular polling location.
