October 5, 2020 (Printable sample ballot) - October 1st, the County Clerk's office mailed out almost 700 ballots that were requested to be mailed. So if you have requested a ballot to be mailed to you, be on the lookout!

August 20, 2020 - There is a lot of national coverage regarding how the USPS will not be able to handle the influx of ballots by mail this November. The state of Texas is not one of the states directly in question, and both our local and state agencies do not anticipate any issues. However, here are a few helpful hints for voters to ensure that ballots will make a timely return by Election Day.
May 28, 2020 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners' Court will be held on the 3rd day of June, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in the Community room on the 2nd floor of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve and pay weekly expenses.
2. Approve payroll.
3. Public comments on Agenda item.
February 28, 2020 - The Shelby County Clerk's Office will be closed for regular business on Monday and Tuesday, March 2nd and 3rd, to handle Election Business only. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
The office will reopen on Wednesday, March 4th, for regular business.

January 3, 2020 - With the upcoming Primary Election fast approaching, I wanted to give some useful information that may help our elderly, disabled, military, or out of town voters make sure they know they have options to vote by mail.
December 12, 2019 - Due to the construction on the sidewalk in front of the Shelby County Clerk's Office on the downtown Center square, and for the safety of our customers, we will be locking our front door for the next two weeks, beginning today, December 12, 2019. We do have our back door unlocked, and you can park at the active courthouse and walk across the road to the back of our office, and come through the back door. We do have a sign to let you know which door to use. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
