To help Shelby County residents prepare for the challenges of an older society, and to make them more aware of resources available to them, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will present a fun and informative “Texercise” and Walk-Across-Texas program.
September 14, 2015 - Dust off those walking shoes and join in as we “Walk Across Texas!” Recruit a group of eight people (1 team captain and 7 team members) or sign up as a solo walker and compete with other teams and individuals to see who can walk the most miles over eight weeks from October 3 – November 27, 2015. The goal is to walk at least 830 miles (the distance from Longview to El Paso) in eight weeks. You can walk around the park, your neighborhood, at the gym, wherever your feet will take you to meet the goal.

August 31, 2015 - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Nacogdoches County, is offering a professional food manager certification training course. This 2-Day program will be offered for $125 on Monday, September 21 and Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Nacogdoches County Annex Building on 203 West Main Street in Nacogdoches Texas. Cost includes training, materials, and a national food manager certification examination. The food manager’s certification will be valid for five years.
August 19, 2015 - The Shelby County Beekeepers Club is hosting a program on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the active Shelby County Courthouse, 2nd floor meeting room featuring Mary Reed, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Apiary Inspector.

Well we have it, from cooking, taking pictures, fashion, robotics, shooting sports, raising and showing livestock and much, much more for youth 3rd through 12th grades.
