"Happenings at SCOM"

August 2, 2019 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries helps all of Shelby County by providing the programs to anyone in need. Anyone can come be a volunteer and help in their own special way. 

For the month of June 2019 programs offered by SCOM helped many people within Shelby County.

SCOM Selling Raffle Tickets at What-A-Melon Festival

July 10, 2019 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries will have a booth set up at the What-A-Melon Festival! We are selling raffle tickets for a 2019 Polaris Ranger 500. Tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100. The winner is responsible for tax, title, and transfer. We will draw the name of the winner on the last day of the 2019 Poultry Festival which is on October 5th. All proceeds will go to the Outreach and will be used to feed the hungry and assist the needy. Please come out and support our community. 

Proclamation Signing to Recognize June as Hunger Awareness Month

June 28, 2019 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries, officials from Shelbyville, Tenaha, Timpson and Joaquin along with Mayor David Chadwick of Center, non-profits and other support systems are coming together on Friday, June 28th in making a proclamation acknowledging June as Hunger Awareness Month. The purpose of this is to raise awareness that we have those in our community that still struggle with providing enough food for themselves and their families. Resources will be available to provide you with more information on ways to assist those in need.
