William Carroll Crawford DRT November Meeting

November 9, 2020 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will hold their November meeting this Saturday, November 14, at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center at 10am.

Once again we will maintain social distancing and encourage you to wear your mask. Instead of hostesses and a buffet lunch we are asking you to bring a sack lunch. The Chapter will furnish drinks, dessert and paper goods.

DRT Meeting Set for Oct. 10

October 7, 2020 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet Saturday, October 10, at 10am at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center.

We will observe social distancing and encourage the wearing of facemasks. We certainly understand if you are hesitant to attend group meetings. We will not have a hostess provided lunch for this meeting, so pack yourself a sack lunch and following a short program and business session, we will share a meal, a time of fellowship and "air hugs."

Truitt Cemetery Homecoming Postponed

April 24, 2020 - Nancy Keeling, president of the Truitt Cemetery Association, announced the 2020 Truitt Cemetery Homecoming will be postponed to a later date.

Checks to help maintain the Truitt Cemetery may be mailed to Nolan Sholar at 514 CR 3801, Joaquin, TX 75954.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas April Meeting (Updated with Date)

April 4, 2020 - In compliance with government officials and to protect our members the William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas has cancelled the April meeting set for April 11. We will notify you later of future meetings.

DRT February Meeting Location Change

Update: The location for the February 8th DRT meeting has been moved to the Shelby County AgriLife building located at 266 Nacogdoches St., Center, TX 75935. The meeting time is still at 10am.

February 3, 2020 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet Saturday, February 8, at 10am at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center.

January DRT Meeting

January 8, 2020 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet this Saturday, January 11, at 10:00 AM at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center. The program will be "Faith on the Frontier," a look at worship and churches in the days of the Republic and the early days of statehood. Additionally, we will have a welcoming ceremony for our newest chapter members, introduce prospective members and take a look into what's ahead for the new year. Come help us get 2020 off to a good start.

DRT Christmas Luncheon

December 10, 2019 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will hold their December meeting this Saturday, December 14, at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center at NOON.

The JJE Gibson Children of the Republic of Texas Chapter and the Gateway to Texas Sons of the Republic of Texas Chapter will join us and spouses, friends and other family members are cordially invited.

November Daughters of the Republic of Texas Meeting

November 6, 2019 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will hold their November meeting this Saturday, November 9, at 10am at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center. We will begin with a short business session. During lunch we will celebrate one of our DRT Honor Days, Daughters of the the Republic of Texas Founders Day.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas October Meeting

October 9, 2019 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet Saturday, October 12, at 10:00 AM at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center. Colleen Doggett will bring the program: "Ferries and Landings Along the Sabine." Our chapter has some new members, some "in progress" members and some prospective members so come meet some new friends, have a light meal and enjoy an interesting program. Texas Heroes Day

September 18, 2019 - The Daughters of the Republic of Texas will recognzie Texas military heroes on Septermber 18, 2019 with Texas Heroes Day. This day will honor Texas Military, past and present. The DRT has designated the day to honor and preserve the memory of the volunteer soldiers who died defending the Republic of Texas and her independence. Special emphasis is placed on honoring those of the 1842 Dawson Massacre and the Mier Expedition.
