November 10, 2023 - General Candidate Filing for a place on the Primary Ballot starts November 11th, 2023 for County Chairs and others that are interested in running for office.

Precinct Chairs filings began on September 11th, 2023. Open filing period ends December 11th, 2023.

Shelby County Democrats to Meet Nov. 16

November 10, 2023 - Shelby County Democrats invites you to our Monthly Meeting on Thursday, November 16th at Las Margaritas Restaurant at 110 Nacogdoches Street, Center. Potluck at 5:30pm. Meeting at 6pm

State Supreme Court Place 2 candidate, Mr. Randell Sarosdy will be our guest. Please come out and greet Mr. Sarosdy and get answers to any questions you may have. He also needs fifty signatures from our county to get on the ballot.

Filing Period Ends Dec. 11 for Precinct Chairs for Shelby County

September 12, 2023 - The filing period for the Precinct Chair Filing starts September 12th and ends December 11th, 2023, to get your name on the 2024 ballot. Lundie to be Acting SC Deputy Democratic Party Chair

February 21, 2023 - Patsy Handy, Shelby County Democratic Party Chair, announces that due to her upcoming knee surgeries, Mr. Richard Lundie, Precinct chair 8 Tenaha, will be acting Deputy County Chair for the Shelby County Democrats until her return.

He will be preparing for the 2024 primaries, any questions or inquiries will be directed to him He may be reached at 936-254-4775

'Thank You' to Helpers of BBQ Plates for Kids After School Event

November 17, 2022 - Patsy Handy, Democrat Party Chair, would like to thank all those who helped provide a free barbecue plate after school for kids ages Pre-K3 to 12th grade on Wednesday at Perry Sampson Park.

Thank you to Richard and Linda Lundie, precinct 8 chair in Tenaha; Earsie and Milton Horton, precinct 4 chair in Huxley; and George Grace, precinct 9 chair in Timpson. Special thanks to Nicole Ellington for getting the word out to the parents about the event and the students that came by for a plate. Also, thank you to Doris and Iretta for assisting.
