August 12, 2020 - The Excelsior ISD announced today it will continue its policy to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2020-2021 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
May 18, 2020 - Excelsior ISD will have a final packet drop off on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 9am to 2pm. We will also be collecting Chromebooks and chargers at that time. Library books and yearbook money can be turned in as well.
We will also have students' personal belongings bagged and ready to be picked up. When you drive up in front of the school, please remain in your vehicle. A staff member will bring your child's bagged personal belongings to you and will collect the items that you are returning.
April 7, 2020 - Dear Excelsior ISD Parents, Students and Staff:
Due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in our area, Excelsior ISD is revising the procedure for packet distribution and return. Until further notice, all assignments for grades PK, KG and 1st will be mailed. The packets will include a postage-paid envelope for the return of completed assignments. We will be mailing packets for the week of April 13, 2020 this Thursday, April 9. Please allow 2-8 days for delivery.
March 30, 2020 - Based on President Trump’s latest guidelines regarding social-distancing, Excelsior ISD has decided to remain closed through April 30. We will closely monitor the situation between now and then and will provide an update by Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
Our teachers will continue to support your child’s education by providing work either via packets or online. Please follow the instructions provided by your child’s teacher regarding the pick-up and return of classwork.
March 19, 2020 - Given the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, EXCELSIOR ISD will extend the suspension of normal district operations through Friday, April 3rd in an effort support our nation’s need to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. Our health officials report that cases are continuing to spread in the state. Suspending operations for this length of time will allow us to determine, in coordination with local health officials, whether the virus is continuing to spread or whether it has been contained.
