June 9, 2022 – In 1981, two deceased individuals, who were the apparent victims of a homicide, were discovered in a wooded area in Houston, Texas, and their identities could not be determined at that time. In 2021, Identifinders International, through the use of genetic genealogy, was able to positively identify the bodies that were found in 1981 as Florida couple Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr. The couple had an infant daughter named Holly who was not found with the remains of the Clouses.

December 24, 2021 – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced a $63 million statewide opioid settlement with Endo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The agreement will largely track the terms of the Global Prescription Opioid Litigation Settlement Agreement that was announced on July 23, 2021.
December 16, 2021 - Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a preliminary injunction for the State of Texas, stopping the Biden Administration from imposing vaccine mandates on the employees of Medicaid and Medicare providers and suppliers.
“This is a win for liberty. The federal government does not have the ability to make health decisions for hard-working Americans,” Attorney General Paxton said. “These unconstitutional mandates have no place in our country, and they are not welcomed here in Texas.”
October 26, 2021 – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced a $290 million statewide opioid settlement agreement with Johnson & Johnson to resolve opioid-related claims. The agreement will largely track the terms of the Global Prescription Opioid Litigation Settlement Agreement that was announced July 23, 2021. According to the settlement, Johnson & Johnson has agreed to pay $291,841,754.89 into the Qualified Settlement Fund, representing Texas’s allocation of the Global Abatement Settlement.
October 21, 2021 – For the seventh year, on October 21, 2021, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and the OAG employees participated in the Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) Purple Day event. Every year, OAG employees are encouraged to “Go Purple” in support of survivors and to raise awareness and take a stand against domestic violence.
October 18, 2021 – Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced the formation of his 2021 Texas Election Integrity Unit, which is a concentrated effort to devote agency lawyers, investigators, support staff, and resources to ensuring this local election season—which begins with early voting today, Monday, October 18—is run transparently and securely. The Integrity Unit’s primary function is to serve as a focused resource to both election officials and the public.
August 10, 2021 – Following on his previous announcement, Attorney General Ken Paxton announced his intention to join the $21 billion opioid distributor settlement in a press conference on Thursday. The settlement includes up to $1.1 billion awarded to Texas and its subdivisions. Opioid distributors are also creating a nationwide clearinghouse to prevent drug diversion. Local counties and cities will need to join now to maximize the benefit of this settlement with most of this money going to expert-approved opioid abatement strategies.

It’s unprecedented that the Biden Administration is mandating a vaccine that is not fully FDA approved. General Paxton is committed to the health and safety of all Texans, as well as safeguarding Texans’ right to individual liberty. An individual’s freedom to make personal decisions cannot be infringed. Currently, under Texas law, Texans have the right to choose whether they will get vaccinated.
