September 26, 2016 - Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 21, members and guests of the Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society heard fascinating details of the life of Arthur F. Horton, longtime Timpson civic and church leader.

Joaquin Senior Center Has Record Turnout for Shot Clinic

September 26, 2016 - A record number of seniors attended the shot clinic hosted at the Joaquin Senior Center on Friday, September 23rd. Sue Smith, Joaquin Senior Center Board Secretary said, "We had way more people than usual come through--just the way we like it!"

Seniors were able to receive shots for flu and pneumonia vaccines.

The Joaquin Senior Center would like to thank everyone who came out and supported this event with special thanks to Aurora Concepts for giving the shots.

September 25, 2016 - The 50-Mile Trail Of Treasures will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from Stonewall, Louisiana to Joaquin, Texas. The route will be from I49 down Stonewall Frierson to Hwy 171 to Mansfield and turn on Hwy 84 to Joaquin, Texas. Come be a part of the 2016 Fifty-Mile Trail of Treasures in DeSoto Parish and Eastern Shelby County!

Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will be selling Hamburger plates for $7.00 on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Fire Station starting at 11 a.m.
