May 17, 2016 - President Joe Anderson called to order the May 16 meeting of the Golden Harvest Ministries Club at 11:30 a.m. with 28 members and guests attending.  Harold Hanson led members in several favorites and all sang "Happy Birthday" to sisters Winnie Preston and Jo Warr who celebrated their birthdays on May 15, and Mike Bordelon who will be 73 on May 24. Joe welcomed our guest Glenda Sallis, daughter of Harold and Naomi Hanson, and recognized our guest speaker, Larry Hume.

May 16, 2016 - The Center FFA would like to thank all of the parents, teachers, administrators and friends for your support and encouragement throughout this year.  We appreciate each and every person who attended our annual awards banquet and helped us celebrate another outstanding year.  We would like to say a big thank you to the local businesses and individuals that generously donated to our silent auction, making it such a great success.

May 16, 2016 - The District Five 4-H Round-up and Food & Nutrition contests were held on April 29-30, 2016 at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches.

May 13, 2016 - Pineywoods Beekeepers Association President Mike Bordelon presented a program on his success with the "Miller Method of Raising Queens and Splitting Hives" to 62 members and guests at their May 12 meeting in Lufkin, Texas.
