April 19, 2016 - The Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Upsilon Chapter announces the winners of their annual fundraiser drawings held Monday, April 18 with proceeds benefiting the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library and other community projects.  Members with the Preceptor Upsilon Chapter extend their appreciation and gratitude to the businesses for their generosity with donating prizes and to the community for supporting this year’s fundraiser.  The 2016 fundraiser winners include: 

April 15, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, family and friend, and community members attended a new member ribbon cutting for Parmer Pools with owner Dirk Palmer on Thursday, April 14.

April 13, 2016 - The Delta Gamma Chapter Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International celebrated the chapter's 68th birthday at their April 11 meeting in Timpson, Texas.  The Delta Gamma Chapter began when 14 key women teachers from Sabine, San Augustine, and Shelby Counties met at the Polly Hotel in Center, Texas on April 17, 1948.  This Society promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
