December 2, 2022 - Operation Blue Santa would like to thank the Businesses of Shelby County for their support and Christmas Spirit in decorating their windows. Six businesses entered, and a decision will be announced on Monday the 5th on who wins.
Those businesses are: Ace Hardware, Johnston Properties (brokerage), Roughrider Quick Lube, White Cottage Mercantile, Morrison Insurance, and McNeill and Brown Drugstore.
November 18, 2022 - The Taste of the Holidays, Sponsored by Shelby Savings Bank will be this Thursday, December 1st from 4:30-7:30 pm at the Windham Civic Center. It is a great way to kick off a fun holiday weekend and the December count down to Christmas.
Tickets are available for $15 person and will not be sold at the door. Children 5 and under are free.
Come sample cuisine and wine from local restaurants and caterers and enjoy a fun festive evening.
November 23, 2022 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society (PWPS) held their November meeting this past Saturday. The November challenge was "Perspective." These photos were taken using different angles to enhance the viewing perspective of each photo. Members are able to submit up to three of their photos for discussion and favorites voting.
November 17, 2022 - Patsy Handy, Democrat Party Chair, would like to thank all those who helped provide a free barbecue plate after school for kids ages Pre-K3 to 12th grade on Wednesday at Perry Sampson Park.
Thank you to Richard and Linda Lundie, precinct 8 chair in Tenaha; Earsie and Milton Horton, precinct 4 chair in Huxley; and George Grace, precinct 9 chair in Timpson.
