Community Caravan Ends Tour of Center on Thursday

September 28, 2022 - The KTBS Community Caravan has been visiting Center all week in the mornings from 5am to 7am. Rick Rowe has been touring the City and highlighting the 46th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival which runs October 6, 7, 8.

The public is invited to join Rick Rowe and the KTBS team on Thursday, September 29th at T&R Steaks and More between 11am and 12:30pm. Dutch treat.

Make sure to watch KTBS, Channel 3 all week long!

U.S. Flag Retirement Box Now Available

September 24, 2022 - Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 has partnered with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office to ensure the citizens of the county have a way to properly dispose of their United States Flags. If you have an unserviceable flag, please bring it to the Sheriff’s Office at 100 Hurst Street in Center and place it in the “Retirement Box” that is located straight ahead as you enter the door. VFW members will then pick up the flags on a weekly basis for burning.

Piney Woods Photographic Society Challenger Winners; ETPF Photo Contest Extended (Today)

September 19, 2022 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society (PWPS) meet this past Saturday and accepted entries in the ETPF Photography Contest.

Billie Jones with the PWPS expressed appreciation to those attending, "I would like to thank everyone that came to the monthly meeting, Saturday, to help accept entries for the East Texas Poultry Festival Photography Contest. Just to let everyone know, I have extended the entry deadline until Saturday, September 24, 2022. If anyone should ask about photo entries, have them contact me."

Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Branch 110 Donates to Local Organizations

September 19, 2022 - The members of Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Branch 110 vote to donate their annual dues back to the local community every year. Anyone who purchases a property policy automatically becomes a Hochheim member and has the opportunity to participate in their local branch. Members are assigned to a local branch according to their zip code. This year we were pleased to be able to donate to all of Shelby County’s Volunteer Fire Departments. We also donated to the Shelby County Cancer Fund and to the Shelby County Sheriff’s office.

Outreach Ministries Receives John R. Harris Grant; Expresses Gratitude

September 19, 2022 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries (SCOM) was the recipient of the John R. Harris Grant this year. SCOM is honored and blessed to receive these grant funds. This grant will be used to help feed the hungry and assist the needy in Shelby County.

Outreach Ministries is striving to be the hands and heart of Christ in our community. This grant will allow us to purchase food for emergency food boxes, assist with utility bills, doctor visits, medications, emergency lodging, and so much more!
