Center Alumni Association Honors Havran, Motley as 2017 Hall of Honor Inductees

September 15, 2017 - The Center High School Alumni Association was pleased to announce the 2017 Hall of Honor Award to be Luke Motley III, representing the Class of 1957, and Joy Ann Weaver Harvan, representing the Class of 1967.

The CHS Alumni Association would like to congratulate the newest Hall of Honor Inductees. Their awards will be presented during the Annual CHS Alumni Association Meeting that will be held on Saturday, September 16th at the Windham Civic Center from 9am until noon.

Panola College to Host Southern Region Rodeo

September 14, 2017 - (Flier) - The road to the College National Finals Rodeo starts here in Carthage, TX as Panola College hosts the first rodeo of the year for the Southern Region Rodeo Circuit. On Friday and Saturday, September 22 and 23 over 400 college students will come to participate in the largest rodeo of the year at the Panola County Cattleman's Association Arena. Slack begins at 9 a.m. each day and performances will be at 7pm each night.

Farmers, Ranchers Affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma Granted Extra Time, Procedures, to Document, Claim Disaster Losses

September 14, 2017 Washington – Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue today announced special procedures to assist producers who lost crops or livestock or had other damage to their farms or ranches as a result of hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Also, because of the severe and widespread damage caused by the hurricanes, USDA will provide additional flexibility to assist farm loan borrowers.

TEA, ATPE Warn of Email Phishing Scam

September 14, 2017 Austin – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) have been advised of a current phishing email directed at teachers and school systems across the state.

The email, which bears the ATPE logo and an outdated TEA logo, comes from a non-TEA email address and appears to target teachers with the following message:
