Museum's Open House for New Exhibit "Collectibles"

April 8, 2026 - An Open House for the museum's new exhibit "Collectibles" is Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 1 - 4 pm. Everyone is invited to attend and learn what's new at the museum.

Also if you haven't paid your dues for 2026 to be a member of the Shelby County Museum, you still have time. The amount for a family is only $25 a year. This is our main fundraising for our expenses for operating the museum.

Have you heard about the “America Reads the Bible” event happening this week in Washington? About 500 people, some famous and some not, are reading through the Word at the Museum of the Bible in D.C. A few of the readings will be pre-recorded, including one that will be shown at 5 p.m. CST today. It will feature the famous verse, 2 Chronicles 7:14, and will be read by the President. The entire event is streaming online at Great American Pure Flix.

It’s the word “redeem.” I first encountered this word, as a boy, not in a church, but in a grocery store.
