September 19, 2025 - Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and Great Springs Project are pleased to announce the signing of HB 4230, establishing the Texas Bicentennial Trail to promote Texas’ rich historical and cultural heritage, provide for increased outdoor recreation, and enhance economic development in the state.

Expanded Digital License Options

Starting this season, hunters have new options for digital licenses. For the first time, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will offer fully digital license options for all recreational hunting, fishing and combo license and tag types, as explained in this new how-to video.

Luna Graduates from Midwestern State University August 2025

September 18, 2025 - 2021 Shelbyville High School graduate Kathy Luna has graduated Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology, Radiologic Technology, Cum Laude from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, in August 2025.

Midwestern State University had 183 undergraduate and graduate students in August 2025 with the provision that they meet all requirements as prescribed by the faculty and administration. Honor graduates receiving bachelor degrees included 25 summa cum laude, 18 magna cum laude, and 18 cum laude.
