August 29, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, August 29.

Let me tell you about a remarkable method of communication and connection. You probably haven’t heard of it. It’s exceedingly rare. I’ll describe it for you.

First, take a sheet of paper and place it flat on a table or desk. Next, using a writing implement - pen, pencil, crayola, your choice - fill the sheet of paper with thoughts. Important thoughts, trivial thoughts, humorous thoughts, serious thoughts - again, your choice.

August 28, 2025 - As Texans get ready for Labor Day weekend and the opening of teal hunting season on Sept. 20, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) urges boaters, paddlers and waterfowl hunters to do their part to protect Texas lakes from aquatic invasive species.

Land Commissioner Buckingham Announces Completion of the Restoring Colonial Waterbird Populations Project

August 27, 2025 - Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., announced that the Texas General Land Office's (GLO) Coastal Management Program (CMP), in partnership with the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program (CBBEP), completed the Restoring Colonial Waterbird Populations project to enhance 180+ rookery islands across eight bay systems ranging from the mid to lower Texas coast. 

David’s Daily Devotion for August 27

August 27, 2025 - This morning we take a look at a trilogy of Bible chapters, three consecutive scripture passages that form a pattern - a pattern that we see repeated over and over in our lives.  This morning we look at Psalm 22, 23, and 24.  I would print these three psalms in their entirety, but I never write more in these daily devotions than you can read in two minutes, so I’ll just share three excerpts.
