USDA Stands Ready to Assist Texas Farmers, Ranchers Recover From Hurricane Harvey

As producers move into recovery mode, and assess damages and losses resulting from the hurricane and subsequent flooding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has programs available to assist in disaster recovery.

TBGA Nixes Refines Rules for Scored Entry Bucks

September 8, 2017 - The Texas Big Game Awards Program recently announced rule changes that will make deer taken on properties where pen-raised, Trap / Transport / Transplant and / or Deer Management Permit deer have been released since March 1, 2017 ineligible for entry in the program's scored entry category. The rule will apply to those properties for five years from the last release date.

Partnership Offers Assistance to Repair, Replace Septic Systems in Attoyac Bayou Watershed

September 7, 2017 - The Attoyac Bayou Watershed Partnership is now offering a septic system repair and replacement program to residents in the Attoyac Bayou watershed to help improve and protect the watershed’s water quality.

Funding and technical assistance is available to homeowners to repair or replace malfunctioning aerobic or conventional septic systems within the watershed, according to Amy Truong, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service assistant with the Texas Water Resources Institute, College Station.
