State Health Officials Urge Zika Testing in Rio Grande Valley

October 3, 2016 - The Texas Department of State Health Services today issued a health alert encouraging health care providers in Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, Webb, Willacy and Zapata counties to consider Zika virus infection in their patients and order testing as medically indicated.

Farm Service Agency Reminds Producers of Acreage Reporting Deadline

October 3, 2016 – In order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements, all producers are encouraged to visit the Nacogdoches USDA Service Center to file an accurate crop certification report by the applicable deadline. Reporting deadlines vary by crop.

The deadline to report pasture and hay acreage for 2017 is November 15, 2016. Timely reporting of your grass acreages will prevent you from incurring late file fees.

DPS Opens Driver License Office in Hemphill

September 30, 2016 - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw today was joined by local officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new DPS Driver License Office in Hemphill. The office officially opens to the public on Monday and is located inside the Sabine County Annex Building (located at 213 Market Street Hemphill, Texas 75948).
