Covid-19 Update: 20 New Cases, 10 Recoveries, 125 Active Cases

August 14, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, over the past two days, 20 new cases and 10 new recoveries were reported. The number of active cases rose to 125.

Probable Cases - 893 (6 new)
Fatalities - 73 (1 removed)
Active Cases (Estimated) - 125
Recovered (Estimated) - 1,995 (5 new)

Dollar Store Robbery Suspect in Custody (Updated 7:56pm)

August 12, 2021 - Shelby County Constables and Sheriff's Department have a suspect in custody in connection with the dollar store robbery in Timpson of August 11.

Covid-19 Update: 8 New Cases, 13 Recoveries, 115 Active Cases

August 12, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, 8 new cases were reported today and 13 new recoveries. The number of recoveries helps to lower the number of active cases to 115.

Letter from County Judge Regarding Increase in COVID-19 Cases

August 12, 2021 - The rapid increase in reported Covid-19 cases is very alarming to me. With two variants of the coronavirus surging, I urge residents to be cautious, if you are running a fever, feel sick, or have been exposed to the virus please seek medical assistance and isolate yourself.

It is very important not to forget what we learned last year when the pandemic first came to Shelby County. Below is a reminder of the protocol that has helped control the virus in the past.

Covid-19 Update: Active Cases Reach 120 with 19 New Cases Added

August 11, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, cases continue to rise at a quick pace as 19 new cases were reported overnight. Today's increase brings the total number of active cases to 120 and continues to resemble February 2021 numbers.

Covid-19 Update: Active Cases Exceed 100

August 10, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, today a total of 17 new cases were reported bringing the total number of active cases to 102. This is the highest the active cases have been since February 2021.

August 10, 2021 - The Center Fire Department responded to a truck-tractor fire on U.S. Highway 96 South Tuesday August 10, 2021, just under one mile south of SL 500.

Covid-19 Update: 15 New Cases Over 3 Days, 85 Active Cases

August 10, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, a total of 15 new cases have been added since August 6th. The new cases increase the estimated number of active cases from 77 to 85.

Northern Shelby County Constables Report Interrupt in Meth Traffic (Updated)

August 9, 2021 - Through a joint investigation of Constable Precinct 5 Josh Tipton; Constable Precinct 3, Roy Cheatwood; and Constable Precinct 4, Taylor Fanguy an alleged distributor of illegal narcotics was arrested Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:30pm.
