Two Injured in Late Night Ambulance Crash

May 10, 2016 - An ACE EMS ambulance traveling back to Center on State Highway 7 collided with a tree late Monday night, May 9, 2016 causing injuries to the crew inside.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Taylor Buster, at 11:55pm Jonathon Walker, 36, with passenger Kayla Williams, 23, was traveling east on SH 7 just west of Martinsville in an ACE EMS ambulance.

Center PD Seeking Information Concerning Two Residential Burglaries

Center Police Detectives are seeking information in regards to two residential burglaries in Center Texas.

On Friday April 22 2016 between the hours of 8:00am and 11am unknown suspect(s) went to two residences One residence located on Pine Street the other located on Lane Street. The suspect(s) entered through the back window and took an assortment of jewelry, a safe, cash, expensive purses, and a variety of other items. After leaving the residences in total disarray the suspects exited through the front door.

Tornado Watch Issued for Shelby County

May 9, 2016 - The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch from 7:20pm Monday, May 9, 2016 until 2am Tuesday, May 10, 2016 for Shelby County. Other counties included in this watch are as follows: Panola, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Red River, Rusk, Titus, and Upshur.

May 6, 2016 - Notice is hereby given that a Regular Meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners' Court will be held on the 9th day of May, 2016 at 9:30am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:

1. Approve the minutes of the April 11, 2016 Regular Meeting and the April 25, 2016 Special Meeting of the Shelby County Commissioners' Court.

Jury Duty Cancelled for May 9th

May 6, 2016 - The jury that has been summoned for Monday, May 9th for the 273rd District Court by Honorable Judge Charles R. Mitchell presiding has been cancelled due to the scheduled cases being resolved or passed. Anyone receiving a summons for that day is released from jury service until they receive a future summons.
